Inspection Station in Staaken
Inspection railway station of the Staaken border crossing (buildings, fences, lights, paths)
The grounds of the former Staaken inspection station are still widely recognizable, enclosed by an intact metal mesh wire fence mounted on concrete posts with upper rows of barbed wire. The paved main road and terminal loop still exist. The service building and signal box no longer exist, but a side building still stands. Deutsche Bahn continued to use the transformer building with the flat roof until it was demolished in 2017 and replaced by a new small building. Five original elevated lights still stand on the main area of the site. Underground infrastructure such as manholes are scattered around the site.
