Entrance Gate to Görlitzer Bridge
Entrance gate into the border strip at the railway line on Görlitzer Bridge
The coal trains from the Neukölln depot station to the Görlitz station ran on the old railroad track through Treptow and had to pass the border area at Lohmühlenstrasse. To allow trains to pass through the border strip, a large metal gate was erected on the only remaining track. When the border fortifications were dismantled, it was separated from the walled-in post and thrown into the slope to the side of the railroad track. Today, this original preserved access gate is in the collection of the Berlin Wall Foundation.
