Inner Wall on Leipziger Platz
Remains of inner wall in the new building complex of the Federal Ministry for Environment
Here, in the area of Leipziger Platz, the inner wall was constructed in the style of Border Wall 75 and extended to the main offices of the Berlin consumer cooperative. The late 19th century former Ministry of Agriculture building was integrated into the border strip; its windows and doors facing west were walled up. Today, it is the office of the Federal Ministry of the Environment. Parts of the Wall that are listed as historical monuments and which were painted after the Wall fell have been integrated into a new building on the north side.
