Bricked-Up Celler Door
Bricked-up cellar door of the border house at Brunnenstrasse 141
The north-facing cellar door of the border house at Brunnenstraße 141 was bricked up soon after the Wall was built. The cellar rooms behind it faced the border strip on Bernauer Strasse. Several escape tunnels in this area began in cellars. An escape tunnel built beneath this building in 1971 is documented by Berliner Unterwelten e.V., which also discovered this cellar door.
