Oberservation Cabin
Observation stand in a metal cabin built with its own firewall windows on Swinemünder Strasse
In the attic of this apartment building on the border strip along Bernauer Strasse, an observation post was set up in the attic, which was blocked off by the State Security and secured with an alarm system. A glass window with a direct view of the border strip and West Berlin was built into the northern fire wall and enclosed by a separate metal booth. This observation post was used either by the Border Troops or the Stasi to monitor the border area. When the building was renovated and the attic space converted, the window was destroyed. The booth was dismantled and secured for the Berlin Wall Foundation collection.
